Unread Threads Marked As Read Empty Unread Threads Marked As Read

It seems like threads that I haven't read get marked as read after a while. Is there any setting to prevent this?

It appears to me that once you view a page the green markers disappear regardless of reading them or not. don't know if there are settings to prevent that so I guess this is just another useless post from the farmer!

I've noticed this too, but only after I've logged out or switched computers. Maybe if you log out or in on another computer, it sets all the threads to read?
