Spectral Safari scorekeeping Empty Spectral Safari scorekeeping

Post  glots Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:27 pm

In the coming weeks there is a scheduled Spectral Safari at a local store, and I was approached about running it. The main question I have is if I am to run this tournament, how do I go about tracking it with now tournament software? I have Mantis, but that seems inappropriate for a sanctioned tournament. Suggestions?

Hello,

At this time you can use any tournament software you'd like to run the Swiss pairings for your event.

Swiss means a player plays against a player who has the same score.
After the first game, a player that won will play another player that won and a player that lost will play againts a player that lost.

Pending on the amount of players you get you could have more then one undefeated player. So youll have to calculate tiebreakers.

Swiss is typically run with enough rounds to ensure that there is a maximum of 1 undefeated player.

4 players - 2 rounds
5-8 players - 3 rounds
9-16 players - 4 rounds
17-32 players - 5 rounds
33-64 players - 6 rounds
65-128 players - 7 rounds
